Our already popular 2-day tour becomes even more enriching with an additional day in Otavalo, allowing guests to delve deeper into Nauture, local culture, and an extra attraction.
Situated approximately a 2-hour drive from Quito, Otavalo entices visitors with its vibrant market, showcasing an array of Ecuadorian handicrafts and textiles. The journey to Otavalo is an adventure in itself, with a stop in Cayambe to savor local delicacies before continuing to witness the breathtaking views of San Pablo Lake and neighboring volcanoes from Mira Lago.
Renowned as one of the largest and finest native markets in South America, the Otavalo market is a must-see, especially for travelers en route to the Galapagos Islands.
Day 1 explores the famous market exploration and continues with visits to two other renowned artisans, ending the day with a small hike to Peguche waterfall.
Day 2 is a celebration of nature and local culture. Begin with an early hike around the stunning Cuicocha Crater Lake, where you'll be immersed in breathtaking landscapes and diverse flora and fauna. Afterward, join local residents to prepare and enjoy a traditional lunch, experiencing the authentic flavors of the region. In the afternoon, visit a renowned Ecuadorian musician, gaining insights into the rich musical heritage of the country.
On the last day, we will visit the renowned Condor Park before heading to Quito and making a final stop at the Quitsato Solar Museum, enriching our mini-adventure with deeper insights into Ecuadorian culture.
