Ecuador
Cost
Ecuador is a very affordable country, where your money can go far. They use the US$ as their currency. There are plenty of options to splurge on textiles and handicrafts, or fancy hotels and meals. A local beer will cost you $1 at the store. Special almuerzo lunches can be enjoyed for $3 and typically include a juice, soup, and a rice and chicken/beef/seafood plate with plantains.
A standard meal for two, with some wine can set you back $30 or more. Ecuador has no shortage of upscale dining options, so really the sky is the limit when it comes to eating!
