This past week, it was announced that the cost of the transit control card (INGALA) for visitors to the Galapagos Islands will increase from $10USD per person, to $20USD per person.
This price increase is effective as of March 1, 2015.
Similar to the Galapagos Park fee of $100USD per person, this is a cash payment, required by all travelers. This fee is paid in Ecuador, before your flight to the Galapagos Islands, and is a control measure for monitoring immigration to the Galapagos Islands.
At this time, the Galapagos National Park fee of $100USD per person, which is paid in cash when you arrive in the Galapagos, has not changed.
