The road out to the Wall of Tears (El Muro de las Lágrimas) has been temporarily closed for the past few weeks.

An optional activity on our Galapagos Adventure tours, the Wall of Tears is located about 3 miles / 5 km from Puerto Villamil in Isabela Island.

Construction is being done on the dirt road and bridges that take you out to this interesting site, so it is currently inaccessible by foot, bike or taxi. This also means other highlights along the road to the Wall of Tears, such as Playa de Amor and some lookouts are also off limits for now.

With the busy Christmas and holiday season fast approaching, hopefully construction will be complete and access to the Wall of Tears will resume before the end of the year. If not, thankfully there are many other activities and beaches to explore around Puerto Villamil!
